Distinctives

“STAND BY THE ROADS, AND LOOK, AND ASK FOR THE ANCIENT PATHS, WHERE THE GOOD WAY IS; AND WALK IN IT, AND FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS." — Jeremiah 6:16

These distinctives show not only what we believe, but how those beliefs shape the everyday life of our church—how we worship, learn, serve, and live.

The Sufficiency of Scriptures

Scripture is sufficient for all that God calls us to believe and to do. It is complete.

The Sovereignty of God

Divine election, human sin, and human responsibility all stand under the vast, unshakable sovereignty of God.

Imago Dei

We affirm that God created each person in his own image.

Sacraments

Sacred ordinances established by Jesus Christ that serve as signs and seals of the New Covenant - The Lord's Supper and Baptism.

Solas of the Reformation

The five solas are concise Latin phrases that summarize the heart of the Protestant Reformation’s recovery of the gospel.

TULIP

The historic “Five Points of Calvinism,” summarized by the acrostic TULIP, mark out Reformed theology at crucial points of dispute, yet they represent only a small portion of its fuller doctrinal richness.

Church Membership

Church membership is not optional for a healthy Christian life; it is essential.

Regeneration

From beginning to end, it is God who saves, God who calls, and God who brings His people to Himself. As a result, all glory belongs to Him alone.

Elders and Deacons

In keeping with the teaching of Scripture, our church is led and served by elders and deacons who are called to care for the body.

Biblical Roles in the Home and Church

The Bible presents a clear pattern for the home, where men and women serve in distinct yet complementary roles.

Gift of Tongues

We deny that speaking in tongues is required as evidence of conversion, Spirit baptism, maturity, or nearness to God.
