We affirm that God created every person equally in His own image. As divine image-bearers, all people possess inestimable worth and dignity before God and therefore deserve honor, respect, and protection. All have been created by God and for God, and we affirm that human life begins at conception.
We deny that any God-given role, socio-economic status, ethnicity, religion, gender, physical condition, sex, or any other characteristic either negates or contributes to a person’s value as an image-bearer of God (Genesis 1:26–30; 2:18–22; 9:6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Colossians 1:21–22; Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 1:5).
